On May 30, the preliminary round of the 2026 National Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition (Macau Hengqin Division) concluded at the Macau School of Continuing Studies. The event was co-organized by the China Welfare Association and the China Women’s Development Foundation, and undertaken by the China Welfare Association Children’s Palace. With the theme “Intelligence for Good, Growth Without Limits,” the competition promotes the deep integration of Artificial Intelligence + Education, and builds a pyramid-style platform for cultivating AI scientific literacy through a combination of talent selection, skill development, and overall quality cultivation. It also supports the nation in nurturing outstanding young technology talents, and is listed among the national competitions for primary and secondary school students under the 2025–2028 academic-year program of China’s Ministry of Education.

The competition drew more than 600 young participants from 30 primary and secondary schools across Macau and Hengqin, where students competed on the same stage. Contestants demonstrated solid AI literacy and innovative thinking. According to the competition’s award structure, the award proportions are 10%, 20%, and 35% of the total number of participants. Among them, the top 5% in performance will qualify for the final national round.

This event was supported by the school’s SIG Team and the IT Department, who worked together to guide students to participate. The guiding teachers included: Liang Xiaofeng, Liang Mincong, Zhang Yingjian, Huang Lesheng, Pan De’en, Zhao Jie, and Yang Yi. With their dedicated coaching, HKP students achieved outstanding results in the preliminary round!
