Reading with Feeling, Writing with Heart

— HKP Students Win Honors in the “World Reading Day” Creative Writing Competition (Macau Area)

Recently, the results of the 2026 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao “4.23 World Reading Day Creative Writing Competition” (Macau Area), hosted by the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s Public Libraries, were announced. Students from Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School performed exceptionally well, achieving another round of outstanding results.

P5E student Liu Yinuo won Second Place (All-Macau) in the Upper Primary Group for her work “Homestyle Moments in Frosted Sugar.”
P6C student Huang Kaixin won Third Place (All-Macau) in the Upper Primary Group for her work “A Heart Filled with the Fragrance of Books and Tea.”

Their achievements fully demonstrate Premier School students’ strong reading comprehension and writing skills.

The competition theme was “Happy Moments Between Books.” For the upper primary writing theme “Learning with Joy,” students were encouraged to share their reading experiences and gains, develop interests, and reflect on personal growth. Through sincere writing, both students blended reading experiences with life reflections. Their ideas were fresh and their writing flowed naturally, earning unanimous recognition from the judges.

Premier School has long actively promoted a reading culture, encouraging students to read more, read good books, and write regularly. Through reading, students broaden their horizons and cultivate their inner world. This latest honor is yet another achievement of the school’s “book fragrance campus” program.

Congratulations to all the winning students! We hope every student will learn from their example—growing in the joy of reading and shining through words.

Guiding teachers: Ms. Chen Liyong (for Liu Yinuo), Ms. Luo Suzhu (for Huang Kaixin)
