Provides English Teaching Guidance to Foster Teacher Development

In a continuous effort to enhance the quality and international standards of its English instruction, Hou Kong Premier School invited Professor Carolyn Platt from Oregon State University for a five-day in-depth guidance and exchange program from October 27 to 31, 2025.

During the event, Professor Platt engaged in intensive and productive professional interactions with the school's English teaching team. She observed classroom teaching firsthand and conducted detailed post-class evaluations and feedback sessions with the teachers and the teaching research group. Drawing on her extensive experience in language teaching theory and practice, Professor Platt offered constructive advice on lesson design, teacher-student interaction, and language input/output strategies. Her insightful feedback was greatly beneficial to the attending teachers.

Furthermore, Professor Platt led specialized training workshops for the English faculty, sharing the latest teaching methodologies in second language acquisition and innovative classroom activity design from the United States. The practical and novel workshop content sparked lively discussions and reflection among the teachers, bringing fresh perspectives and energy to the school's English teaching.

The collaboration with Professor Platt was highly successful. It not only enhanced the teachers' instructional vision and practical skills but also further strengthened the school's culture of teaching and research.
