—HKP’s “Math Week” Kicks Off a Joyful Math Adventure
To celebrate the 94th anniversary of Hou Kong Middle School and to spark students’ interest in math while strengthening their logical thinking skills, Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School held its annual Primary School Math Week. All teachers and students took part, enjoying the wonderful world of math, feeling its charm, and sharing in the joy of growth.
The event started on May 12 and will run until May 21. The week included many different activities. At the opening assembly, there were video highlights, an award ceremony, and sharing sessions in each grade under the theme “Math in Everyday Life.” There were also fun magic and 24-point interactive games, helping students learn math through games and fun challenges.
During lunch break, the campus became a math playground. Different grades joined tabletop games and movement-based activities. P5 and P6 students acted as small helpers, patiently guiding younger students to complete challenges. There were also daily quiz questions in the corridors and a well-prepared exhibition of students’ math artwork—helping students strengthen what they learned while building confidence.
This Math Week blended knowledge, fun, and practice, encouraging students to learn actively. The school aims to build a strong campus atmosphere where students love math, play math, and use math. In the future, the school will continue creating featured subject activities to help students improve their overall skills through enjoyable learning.
