— HKP Helps K3 Children Transition Smoothly into Primary School
To help Kindergarten K3 students get familiar with the primary school environment early and adapt to classroom routines, HKP held a Preschool–Primary Transition Experience Program from May 11 to May 15. Through immersive experience activities, children took an important step toward smoother growth after starting primary school and easing any school-entry anxiety.
During the program, K3 teachers and students visited P1 classrooms and were warmly welcomed by the P1 students and teachers. In class, P1 students demonstrated good manners such as how to greet properly, sit correctly, and raise a hand to speak—setting a positive example for the K3 children. Primary teachers also designed engaging, game-based learning activities. K3 children sat together with P1 students, exchanged places, and experienced what a primary classroom feels like. The lively interactions helped the children quickly blend in and enjoy the classroom atmosphere.
After the classroom experience, P1 students guided K3 children to learn primary school daily routines. From lining up in an orderly way and showing politeness and care, to good hygiene habits, the older students demonstrated patiently and taught step by step. With guidance, K3 children practiced routines such as queuing independently, speaking softly, and using the restroom properly—building their awareness of rules and developing good habits through hands-on learning.
This transition activity built a communication bridge between kindergarten and primary school. It helped K3 students understand primary learning and daily life more directly, while also cultivating a sense of rules and independence. Looking ahead, our school will continue to improve the transition program, helping every child confidently begin primary school and open a wonderful new chapter in their studies.
