Recently, the second Inter-Class Singing Competition, part of the “Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Macau's Handover and Welcoming the New Year” series at Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School, concluded successfully. With the theme "One Class, One Voice," the competition was divided into preliminary and final rounds, showcasing class unity through song and bringing joy and warmth to the festive season.

This year, each class put in even more effort compared to last year, selecting carefully curated Chinese and English songs with diverse performance styles. The arrangements featured harmonies and instrumental accompaniments that added vibrancy to the melodies. Students adapted their formations to match the rhythm of the songs, demonstrating the synergy developed through extensive rehearsals. Props enhanced the themes, while heartwarming interactions and class slogans created lasting memories. Many classes also devoted time to filming and producing background videos, weaving their stories into the performances. After intense competition in the preliminaries, one team from each grade advanced to the finals.

In the finals, the hall was filled. The Principals, along with several members of the Parent-Teacher Association, formed the judging panel as the lower and upper primary teams presented their performances. Parents transformed into a “super support team,” using whistles, banners, light signs, and cheering sticks to create a lively atmosphere, making the competition warm and inviting.

This year’s competition not only awarded champions, runners-up, and third place in both lower and upper primary but also introduced a “Heart-to-Heart Team Spirit Award” for each grade to recognize the class collaboration. All winning classes received a variety of snack prizes, allowing everyone to share in the sweet rewards of collective achievement.

From detailed preparations in the preliminaries to the enthusiastic performances in the finals, this singing competition served not only as a platform to showcase class talents but also as a means to strengthen class unity through song. It infused the school culture with vitality and became a warm bond of cooperation between families and the school, allowing children to experience joy and growth.
